Our Soap Donations to Help the Vulnerable during COVID-19

A huge thank you to each and every one of you who have bought our Soaps because in doing so, you’ve made it possible for us to be able to donate over 30,000 soap bars to those who are vulnerable at this time.

These soaps have been produced in partnership with our manufacturer, Soapworks, the UK’s largest manufacturer of soaps. Lucy Bee provided all of the materials for the soap base, and Soapworks turned these into bars for us, free of charge.

The soaps ready to leave the Lucy Bee Warehouse

In response to Lucy’s recent post on Instagram, asking for followers to get in touch with their suggestions in supporting those most vulnerable in the community, we’re really happy that more than 55 different charities across the UK have received our soap donations. These include NHS hospitals, the emergency services and charities including care homes, homeless shelters and food banks. You can see the full list below.

We wanted to share with you how some of these are being put to good use:

Thank you soooo much for the bars of soap your team have donated to Dorset Police! We are all so pleased, happy, thankful and very grateful. So many people have told me they started bringing in their own soap and often we have none at all! And they had also been using a lot of moisturiser recently on their hands because they were so dry.
After only using the soap for 3 days colleagues have said how they can tell the difference - our hands are so much more moisturised and nourished, not left feeling dry and cracked. They also lather up amazingly so not much is needed from the bar when washing.
Take care & stay safe ❤”
From Laura, Dorset Police

The soaps have been donated to the London Ambulance Staff and are currently being used in Well Being isolation packs which are being delivered to staff in isolation with suspected/confirmed COVID-19 and or vulnerable to it. They are also being given out to crews on a daily basis when the Well Being team are visiting hospitals to support staff during this time. Thank you, Lucy Bee.”
From Sophie, London Ambulance Team

Thank you to everyone at Lucy Bee, for the kind donation of soaps. In Mansfield we see about 60 - 70 homeless, rough sleeping and newly housed clients every week at our Soup Kitchen at Bridge Street Methodist Church, and across 5 different homeless provisions in Mansfield.
We have been working in partnership with Mansfield District Council, to distribute the soaps to the homeless clients and to other vulnerable families / individuals within the Mansfield District. Each Client for the past 2 weeks has received a take-away pack with their Soup & sandwich, which includes one of your soaps and they have all commented how wonderful it was to receive.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, you have provided immeasurable love and dignity to the clients in this unsettling and troubling time. Remember, Stay Home, Protect the NHS and Save Lives."
From Revd John Yarrien, Minister of Bridge Street, Bethel, Farnsfield and Shirebrook Methodist Churches in the Sherwood Forest Circuit

Just wanted to send a quick message on behalf of the midwives and support staff at Lister Hospital for your kind donation of all the soap!!! Everyone has helped themselves to one (or two!) and they are helping to keep our hands moisturised after we are constantly washing them, using alcohol gel and wearing gloves! Much love and stay safe
From Jade, Lister Hospital Maternity, Hertfordshire

”On behalf of the women and staff team at the Marylebone Project we can’t thank Lucy Bee enough for their amazing generosity. Receiving your donation of beautiful soaps was a real treat for the 112 vulnerable, homeless women who live in our residential arm, who we have been working hard to support and keep healthy (both physically and mentally) during this time of real uncertainty. In the meantime, stay safe and thank you once again for your kindness and support.”
From Des Scott, Interim CEO The Marylebone Project
