6 Essential Rules of SPF
Make sure you get the most out of using sunscreen with these 6 essential rules! Wearing sunscreen helps to protect our skin from UV rays which cause skin damage and premature skin ageing.
1. It is recommended to use at least 6 teaspoons of sunscreen to cover an adultβs body, over half a teaspoon for each arm, over half a teaspoon (or 2 fingers) for your face and neck, over one teaspoon for each leg, front of body and back.
Β
2. Make sure to apply to all exposed skin, donβt forget your ears, back of neck, hands and feet!

3. Reapply every 2 hours, and after swimming or sweating.
Β
4. Wear SPF every day, even when itβs grey and cloudy outside, as UV rays (especially UVA rays) can penetrate through clouds and cause skin damage.
Β
5. Water, snow, sand and pavements can all reflect UV rays which increases exposure and the need to wear SPF.Β

6. Apply 30 minutes before sun exposure (especially when using a chemical SPF).
